Serving all of Minnesota’s popular fishing and vacation areas, Minnesota Fishing Guide Service is one of the hardest working guide services around. By being on the ice fishing every day, we are able to move the fish houses where the fishing action is to help ensure you have an enjoyable fishing trip.
All of the fish houses are on wheels and can be moved quickly and efficiently. Walleyes, Perch, Crappies, Bluegills and northern pike are the most sought after fish. However catfish and bass can be targeted as well. You can choose between day houses, sleeper houses, personalized fully guided trips, or even using your own house by having us find a spot for you.

About Captain Josh
Captain (USCG) Josh Hagemeister has been making a living as a professional fishing guide for 36 years. With a passion for fishing that started at age 4, Josh took it to the next level by starting Minnesota Fishing Guide Service (minnesotaguideservice.com) while still in high school. Throughout college and throughout his adult life Josh has guided over 6,000 trips in the boat alone – and thousands of ice fishing trips as well.
Due to spending nearly 300 days per year on the water, Capt. Josh has become well known as one of the most versatile and efficient multi-species guides throughout the state known to catch fish “anywhere at any time”. Rental Services
Day House Rentals
What is provided with the fish house rental:
- Fish house(s) seat 3-6 anglers depending on house model
- Live bait delivery, chairs, rattle reels, electric/gas lights, wall heater, shelving for “stuff”, carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers. Properly insured and licensed.
- Hook out/pliers, ice scoop, fish ruler
- Holes drilled, heat on—ready to go!!
- Rods/reels/tip ups/ tackle box, available for $20 per person per day
- Vexilar “fish finders” also available for rent $25 per day,
- Fish cleaning/packaging available with advance notice, fee depends on fish.
Rental fees are:
- Full day (8-10 hrs): $295 for up to 3 anglers,
- 6 hrs: $225,
- Half day (4 hrs): $200.
- $50 for each additional angler up to 6 (max in a day house)
What you need to bring:
- Fishing License, fishing gear, cooler/bucket for fish
- Food/snacks/drinks/water, grill for grilling on the ice!
- “Luggable Lou”—restroom stuff? (most lakes have a porta-potty at the access)
- Garbage bag to remove/take garbage with you when finished.

Glacier deluxe fish houses / sleeps up to 5
Deluxe Sleeper Rental Fees:
Deluxe rental fees are $395 for up to 3 anglers, additional anglers $50 each per 24 hr. period. 2 day minimum on weekends (Friday-Sunday).
Check in / out time 8-10am (can be adjusted). No smoking in the house—no “butts” on ice.
What is provided with a deluxe sleeper fish house rental:
- Carbon monoxide alarms,
- Propane alarms,
- Fire extinguisher,
- Forced air furnace,
- Properly insured/licensed
- Live bait delivery,
- Extra chairs,
- Rattle reels,
- Bait aerator. 110 Volt power.
- Smart TV/Roku,
- DVD player,
- Microwave,
- Stereo/cd player
- Gas range/oven, sink – (drains into bucket)
- 110 volt Generator/fuel
- VEXILAR fish finders available for $25 per day per unit
- Rods/reels/tackle box/tip ups available for $20 per person per day
- Fish cleaning/packaging available with advance notice. Fee depends on fish

What you need to bring (pretend you’re going camping):
- Fishing License,
- Fishing gear,
- Cooler/bucket for fish,
- Food/water
- Flashlight,
- Matches,
- Garbage bags (you must take garbage with you when done)
- Sleeping bag/pillow,
- All cooking/eating supplies,
- Water,
- Dishes,
- Pots/pans etc.,
- Cleaning supplies (mop/broom provided) to clean fish house when done—soaps, etc.
- Auger (if you want to explore outside—I will drill holes for you if needed)
- Toilet (bucket-bag) / TP (if using portable toilet, “luggable Lou”).
All waste must be removed from the fish house/lake when you leave!! Do not use the exterior of the fish house as a restroom!! Your deposit will not be returned.
Fish House Deposits:
$150 damage deposit per 24 hour period required
Deposit will be returned or applied to rental fee in full after final walk through at check out if no damage has occurred and no “waste” garbage left in house or on ice.

Perfect for the angler that owns their own fish house but needs a semi-private place to fish—meaning you will not be on a plowed highway next to a row of 30 other houses! There may not even be a plowed road so you may need a 4x4 vehicle to pull the house down a “trail” made by me.
I find your spot, catch fish to verify, and then give you the “pin drop” or “coordinates” to the fishing spot.
Spot Finder Rates
Prices start at $300 for one fish house/group.
If there are multiple fish houses in the group, then an extra $150 per house will apply.
A deposit is required and will be refunded at the end of your trip when the site is inspected by me to ensure no garbage or waste is left behind.

Designed for both the experienced diehard ice angler or the new ice angler that wants to learn invaluable ice fishing strategies with hands-on experience! The approach is typically aggressively moving and searching with electronics, fishing multiple spots and/or lakes throughout the day until the “honey hole” is found! In the early season we may be walking or using ATV’s, snowmobiles, or a side by side until the ice is thick enough for vehicles.
All equipment, gear, and bait is provided. 8 hour, 6 hour, or 4 hour trips are available. Typically we are outside and or using heated portable fish houses when needed. Please call with any questions.
